After staying alive in the Louisville Regional with their win against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday, the Oregon Ducks hoped to win another elimination game against top-seed Louisville Sunday morning.
Louisville recorded nine hits in its victory over Oregon in the Louisville Regional at Jim Patterson Stadium. The Ducks end the year in disappointing fashion as they lost four of their last five games. Last year when we're in our first regional, not a guy in the locker room knew what that was, like even being in postseason play, so we're building something. That's what it looks like and that's what we're trying to build for.
Our guys got a very clear view of what it looks like when a program is as good as Coach McDonnell's and that's what we're striving to be. It was a great college baseball game that we came up short in. I'm very proud of the seniors that we got a chance to suit up with and excited about the future that we have as a program. This also is the second consecutive year that Oregon's season ends in the regionals.
Last year as a regional host, the Ducks were eliminated by LSU with back-to-back losses.
